Present Time!

This is in Manzanillo when we gave gifts to all of the kids, and they were all so happy. It was so nice to see and be apart of.

Trip to Manzanillo, Limon

Here was where I got to help kids that families didnt have a lot of money. They played games, danced, had fun, and got presents and treats. I helped out with the cooking and the organizing before the party, and then with a bit of facepainting. It was an amazing experience. And they all had a ball.

Hey Everyone!

Hey Everyone,
Feel free to make comments or ask questions so I can share my knowledge. Today, I have officially started exploring. I went to a pretty busy city, probably 4x worse as Charlottetown, and survived. It takes about 40 minutes by bus from where I live but only about 20 from my school. I went straight from my highschool, and then decided to join the Gym in this town, but it takes a lot of walking to get there. Therefore, I am getting tons of exercise, and window shopping, talking to people, but being safe, and just loving being independent. Hope you guys all enjoy my blog, and if there is anything special you want to hear about or see, just ask me. Also if you want to send an email to me, my email is iwannabeme33@hotmail.com and here is my address here incase you want to send a letter. Talk to you again soon. ~~Jodhi

The After Party

I thought this was a really interesting tradition. If you want to dance with either the bride or groom, you have to attach a bill to them. It was quite an interesting sight. I think it is a great idea, you get to have fun, and meanwhile you are helping a newly wed out.

My Cousins Wedding

Below is my cousin Beatrice's Wedding. It was held in the Iglesia de Orosi(church of Orosi). It was a very beautiful Mass, and I saw a different cultures traditions for Matrimony.

Halloween Party

These are the final pictures. Also as a treat for the kids, I made a huge batch of sugar cookies, and delicious icing, and even the adults had a ball decorating cookies. Over all it was amazing, and now I know that throwing a party is very costly, hard, tiring, but incredibly worth it.

Halloween Party

These are more photos. In total, we only hosted 14 people, but we made Taco salad, brusheta, sesame-fried chicken, chips, vegatables & Dip, wraps, and the for dessert, a special brownie treat with candy apples. And then we gave out candy bags to signify trick-or-treating. Even some of the kids tried to dress up(and my sister and her boyfriend who are kids at heart). It was a great success.

Halloween Party.

In Costa Rica, not many people celebrate Halloween, so my fellow exchange student and I decided to go all-out and throw a party for our two families to share the traditions we practice at Halloween. We got up early, and cooked all day long, and bought tons of things. It was so much fun to do.

My Brother's Graduation Dance/Prom

Below is myself, and my sister Karol. My brother Rafita and I. Rafita dancing with my mom, Roxa. Which I learned is a tradition at this type of graduation ceremony. And there is a live Mariache. Also, there was live dancers with huge feather hats playing these incredible drums. They were almost hynostic, because they made you just want to dance. I had a fantastic time, and it was nice to see a different type of Graduation/Prom.

Costa Rica Independence day

This is what we do in my town to celebrate Costa Rica's Independence Day. All the kids dress up, and play instruments. It was so cute to see. More pics to come.

Visit to a Farm

Here are just random vegetables. Most of them we have except the one that looks like a pumpkin plant. I think it is called Ai Chote. (not sure about the spelling though)

And finally Jaco Beach!!

This is Jaco Beach. Isnt it beautiful. Luckily, I get to go back in January. It was pretty hot, but it was a nice change since it is pretty cold in my town, well cold for what I consider Summer, but there summer is not until January. It looks exactly like those pictures in the Travel Magazines. :)
