Cabina in Guanacaste

I was lucky enough to spend last Sunday through Wednesday in the jaw-dropping-gorgeous province of Guanacaste. We left my town at Midnight and drove all the way through until 530am and within 10 minutes of arriving, I was blessed with an amazing surprise. See below. I spent two days at the beach and the others at the cabin swimming in the pool and getting a little more colour to my skin. I would have stayed longer if I had had the chance but I am glad I had a few days as it was.

What Started Out as a Walk...

Sadly, I have no photos to show for todays adventures because it started out only to be a simple walk for exercise. I decided to take advantage of the sun and explore the town of Orosi Valley to see all that it had to offer. I had been told of a place called The Otiac that was mainly for Tourists. I went inside and it had such a homey feel to it. There were gorgeous paintings scattered on the wall and lots of books. I loved it. I stayed for a little while and read up on more tourist attractions in Costa Rica. Then I set off to explore some more and was surprised to hear a marching band in the distance close by. Naturally, I did a 360 and followed the sound. I absolutely love watching marching bands in a parade type manner. Girls swinging their battons and guys hitting their drums. It makes my heart jump. Apparantly there are lots of activities going on in Orosi ranging from children games, horse races, to other neat activities to celebrate the church in Orosi.

So what started out as a normal walk turned into a day where I was extrememly happen. This trip compared to last one, I feel is so much better because I walk the streets as a new person. I feel like I can appreciate more things and my eyes are wide open. I am loving this feeling, and I love feeling free. The culture here is so difficult to tell you about because it is almost something that you have to experience.

I´m sure that is could all be compared to Canada but yet it feels so unique. Here:
- People leave their doors open wide but their gates closed.
- If you need them you yell OOPA!
- Many people share everything with their neighbors, others dont know theirs.
- They eat tons and tons of Rice and beans!!! Rice for almost all meals. My family buys 5  2kg packages of rice only for one month. They drink lots of coffee too.
- For the majority of Ticos they are very friendly. People say hello  when walking in the streets.

There is so much more but it is difficult comparing because it just FEELS so completely different but in an amazing wonderful beautiful way. Unfortunately I only have 4 1/2 weeks left. I know that I wont want to leave this time.

Birthdays & Ranchong

My sister Karol. Ps. The cakes taste completely different.

so excited!!!!

The humidity made my hair look just peachy. :P
This past weekend was my Big sisters birthday. We celebrated at our house and then had a nice party up in the mountains at a ranch that my aunt and uncle own. I had an amazing time helping to cook, clean and it was a great evening filled with Baileys and Karaoke! We were there the whole entire day and didnt get home until Midnight and let me tell you I was EXHAUSTED! But it was completely worth it!

Dancing the Night Away

My Cousin Danny and I. He just loves me to pieces.

Hope you all are enjoying my photos. If there is any specific that you want me to take pictures of, I am all ears. I apologize for my lack of grammatical skills. The more I learn of Spanish, it seems like the more english goes out of my head.

I am only on Day 5 of my trip and already it feels like a lifetime (In a good way) !! The people here are so friendly.

If any of you want to visit, just give me a call and I will pick you up. ;)

These are Oranges. They aren´t even orange. This is the norm.

Drinking Coconut Water

Those bananas we eat, they come from Costa Rica. And you know the little packs of fruit with pineapple and other fruits by Dole or Del Monte? Well my bet is they come from Costa Rica too.

Lunch. Who knows what it was. It had chicken and hot sauce.

Camito is a type of fruit. Tasted unique.
